Section 35 Dispersal Order - Barry Island |

Officers in Barry have been given extra powers to deal with anyone involved in anti-social behaviour.
A 48 hour dispersal order, which is granted under Section 35 of the Anti-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014, is in place in Barry Island until 3:00pm on Sunday, August 17th.
Under Section 35 of the Act, police officers are able to instruct anybody who is causing, or is likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress to leave the area.
They will also have the power to seize any property which officers suspect is being used to cause anti-social behaviour.
The order is a preventative measure following an incident on Barry Island on Tuesday August 12th.
Police were called to Paget Road around 7:30pm to a report of a 15-year-old boy being attacked by a group of males near the Paget Road car park.
